GUIDELINES FOR CONTRIBUTORS

  • Submission deadline: 30 January 2026
  • All submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Length – between 4000 and 7000 words (including footnotes and bibliography)
  • Your paper can contain up to 5 photos
  • Photographs should be submitted in high-quality TIFF or JPEG format (300 dpi)
  • Contributions with photographs should be accompanied by a written statement that the author of the paper is the sole author or copyright holder of photograph/s, or a written explicit permission or (royalty-free) license from the copyright holder to submit the photo for publication
  • Manuscripts and photographs as separate files should be sent to partim@m.ffzg.unizg.hr (or through WeTransfer or any other large file-sending service)
  • Formatting
  • Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced for the main text.
  • Use single spacing for footnotes and block quotations.
  • Margins: 2,54 cm (1 inch) on all sides.
  • Submit manuscripts as .docx files (not PDFs).
  • Use section headings sparingly and consistently.

Quotation and Punctuation

  • Use double quotation marks for short quotations; single quotation marks for quotations within quotations.
  • Quotations of five lines or more should be formatted as block quotations, without quotation marks.
  • Periods and commas go inside quotation marks.

Non-English Sources and Publications

• For publications written in languages other than English, include an English translation of the title in square brackets in the bibliography, e.g., Muzeji i stvaranje značenja [Museum and Meaning-Creation]

• Titles of archival documents in languages other than English should likewise be translated into English and presented in square brackets within the footnotes.

Notes and Bibliography

  • Only use footnotes
  • Latin abbreviations such as ibid., op. cit., and loc. cit. are not used.
  • The footnote reference number should be placed in the text following the punctuation mark
  • A full list of references should be given at the end of the manuscript
  • Archival sources should be cited as a separate list before the list of publications.
